Our history
Handel & Constructie H. Meeuwsen BV was founded on 1 January 1994 as the successor to a one-man operation started by H.P. Meeuwsen on 10 February 1985 in a barn at the back of his house in Kruiningen named Handel & Constructie H. Meeuwsen. The business was based partly his own expertise and partly on the company of his brothers, Meeuwsen Dragline Verhuur. H.P. Meeuwsen bought damaged and wrecked cranes, which he then restored and sold.
This led to various metal working jobs, maintenance jobs, construction and repair assignments, revisions and machine building commissions. Hence the name: Handel & Constructie (Trade & Construction).
After some years, the barn became too small and the company found a new location on industrial park Olzendepolder in Yerseke.
Nowadays
A problem-solving and customer-oriented attitude at the company eventually resulted in the establishment of departments for engineering/machine building, industrial maintenance, sales of technical components, construction, machining operations, hydraulics and sheet metal work, allowing us to offer our customers a broad range of services. All departments work in synergy with each other, which yields added value for the departments themselves as well as our customers.
Developments and investments with a focus on innovation and the push for ever higher quality and productivity have resulted in spacious and well equipped workspaces and a organization with a team of 70 motivated workers. Our company’s development and growth has always been and still is driven by feedback from and appreciation of our customers and suppliers, the dedication of our motivated, loyal and expert team, continuous re(training), the right quality and value for money.
In addition, we have enjoyed a good relationship of many years’ standing with our customers, suppliers and service providers. They have all played an important part in our success. Our future
We are constantly seeking to improve our operations, including the use of robots, computerization of the production process. For us, terms like Arbo, HACCP, VCA**2004/04, ISO 9001, CE, CNC and CAD-CAM are just part of everyday business.
In 2008, 1 daughter and 4 sons entered Meeuwsen Trade & Metal Services v.o.f. as partners. This development has made us a real family business. The sheet metal and trade business in particular are part of this business. And there are plans for further expansion on the industrial park in Goes.
Our market
Handel & Constructie H. Meeuwsen BV and Meeuwsen Trade & Metal Services v.o.f. has something to offer to all markets involved in technology and production. For years our customer portfolio has been made up of one-man operations and multinationals, both regional and international.
We are currently active in the following sectors: metal industry, food-processing industry, agriculture and fishing, shipping, chemical industry, packaging, transport, oil, civil engineering, offshore, petrochemicals, utilities, metal processing and construction.
Our staff
As a company acknowledged by Kenteq and Ecabo technical training centers, we give many young motivated students the opportunity to start out and develop their skills in one of our departments. Many students have joined our company and have since grown into motivated skilled workers.
